“… A peculiarity of our land, unanimously recognised and appreciated, is the healthy and temperate climate. Our weather is characterised by an exceptionally contained annual temperature range; such characteristics translate in mild winters, enjoyable springs and autumns, as well as dry summers, often refreshened by the soft breeze of the sea. Such climate is due to the combination of great sun exposition and the protection of the Ligurian Alps: the local mountains create in fact an ideal shelter from cold north winds. The exceptionality of the climate is supported by temperature and rainfall figures, whose measures are similar to the southern areas of Italy. The average annual temperature of our gulf, for instance, resembles that of the Gulf of Naples. Like in the southern regions of the Country, rainfalls are usually concentrated in the autumnal season, low in winter and spring and scarce during summer…”
